Mickey Carver
Mickey started his career as a field engineer, providing layout services for a wide range of construction projects in the 90’s. After six months he was promoted to head field engineer, where he systematically built one of the best-known layout departments in the Atlanta market at the time. It was during this time that he developed his focus on the “details”. In 2001 he was tasked with impressing a general contractor with the abilities of this layout department, and it worked. A vice president for the general contractor named Dick Brookfield hired him, and for the next thirteen years, he worked directly under Dick. He did not continue doing layout very long before Dick convinced him to be a superintendent, later a project manager, when work slowed down, he worked in estimating. Throughout the entire time, he was attending and playing an integral part in presentations and interviews. Thanks to Dick, Mickey was exposed to every aspect of the construction process during this period of development. When Dick retired, Mickey had an opportunity as a Senior Project Manager with another firm, and from there took a position as a vice president running the self-storage division of a company. As Senior Project Manager, Mickey has built two million square feet of self-storage, one million square feet of flex space, and two million square feet of warehouses. As Business Unit Leader he oversaw the construction of an additional three million square feet of self-storage, one million square feet of flex space, one million square feet of warehouses.
